Hallie’s Angels
Hallie’s Angels, the youth action division of Sunnyside’s own LOVE, HALLIE Foundation, is collaborating with Queens Together, a new initiative to feed our borough’s first responders and needy through local independent food businesses. All money the Hallie’s Angels raise for this initiative will go to funding Queens Together’s Elmhurst effort; some of the local food businesses that are part of this so far include: Senso Unico, Tangra Asian Fusion, the Queensboro, Zen Yai, and Butter Beans catering.
Sustaining an initiative of this size requires a lot of support. The total cost to provide one hospital worker a meal is about $13, including delivery and tip. Each delivery of approximately 80 meals costs about $1,000.

The Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District is a tax exempt, nonprofit organization working to promote and enhance the commercial district of Sunnyside. “We sweep the sidewalks, hang the holiday lights, produce local events and execute Shop Local promotions to highlight our district’s diverse and delicious businesses.”
